Building Engineering Team Leader

We are A8000, an architecture and design studio, and we are looking for new colleagues to join our Prague office. Our studio's work covers the entire process – from initial designs and studies, through obtaining permits and selecting contractors, to construction itself and final approval. As a member of our design team, you will have a unique opportunity to work on major domestic and international projects in collaboration with renowned architects from around the world.

Our work is best characterised by our own projects, such as the Sedlčany Community Centre , which won the Building of the Year title, and the reconstruction of Pavilion Z, nominated in 2024 for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture. Our current projects include the B06 office building at Florenc in Prague and the extension of the Slezská Ostrava Town Hall. We are also involved in major transport projects, including the main railway stations in Prague, Brno, České Budějovice and Pilsen. Our work also includes the transformation of complex areas, such as the Lake Medard project in the Karlovy Vary Region.

Start date: immediately.

Responsibilities

Leading a team of up to 10 building engineers
Active collaboration with other project teams, including architects, project managers, subcontractors and clients
Coordination, ensuring smooth progress of work, administration and reporting on assigned projects
Responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned commissions
Crisis management
Chief project engineer on an assigned commission

Your profile

University degree in building construction
Project management experience
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit (an advantage)
English at A2 level (an advantage)
Category B driving licence (an advantage)

The A8000 studio is founded on the principle of interdisciplinary dialogue. We see architecture as a tool for cultivating both the environment and society. The studio is led by Martin Krupauer and Pavel Kvintus, who combine many years of experience with modern leadership of a creative team and together form a single authorial whole.

With a team of more than a hundred architects, urban planners and engineers, we work from Prague, Brno, České Budějovice and Český Krumlov on commissions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Our work is defined by a strong artistic concept as well as by a deep social and economic context.
