The Sequoia office building enters a complex site between one of Prague's busiest traffic junctions and the Krč Forest. The design responds to the stark contrast between busy urban infrastructure and the natural environment with a dynamic cascading mass that gradually transforms towards its surroundings while connecting to the newly emerging layer of development in the Roztyly area.

A key theme is combining prestigious office architecture with a lightness and elegance befitting the building's prominent location. The white mass, rational architectural vocabulary and boldly cantilevered front facade create an easily memorable identity and give the building a clear face for those arriving on foot or by car.

The name Sequoia refers to the giant redwood, one of the largest and most striking trees in the world, whose majesty, verticality and strength inspired the character of the building. The building thus serves as a new landmark and, at the same time, as part of a changing urban environment.

Identity and Architectural Expression

The aim was to design a building that would appear elegant and light while acquiring a clearly memorable face – the very face that greets visitors arriving on foot or by car.

The white mass, rational architectural vocabulary and front facade cascading in cantilevers over the entrance pavement give the building a distinctive identity inspired by the majesty of the sequoia.

Public Space and Working Environment

The main benefit of the scheme lies in harnessing the potential of the site and combining aesthetic ambitions with a demanding structural solution. The transport terminal is equipped with contemporary technologies that enhance user comfort and support its everyday operation.
