Hotel Element is located in the immediate vicinity of Lake Lipno, in the Šumava landscape, which offers year-round opportunities for recreation, sport and relaxation.

The building is part of the wider development of the area and responds to the mountain character of the setting, the scale of the surrounding buildings and the intensive tourist use of the area. The architecture works with a compact volume, a restrained colour palette and articulated façades so that the large building reads clearly and blends naturally into the landscape setting of Lipno.

Lipno is a place where water, forests and open landscape naturally merge. It is this calm rhythm of the place that inspired the atmosphere of the whole complex – understated, natural and closely connected with the surrounding landscape.

Architecture in the Landscape

The building's expression is based on the rhythm of window openings, the articulation of the façades and the handling of the individual volumes. The architectural design breaks down the scale of the hotel so that it does not appear as one heavy block, but as a structured whole befitting the character of a holiday resort.

The relationship with the surrounding landscape, views and the overall image of the area also plays an important role.

A Hotel for All Seasons

The hotel is part of a year-round holiday resort and complements the wide range of activities around Lake Lipno. In summer it is a starting point for water sports, cycling, hiking or the bike park; in winter for skiing, snowboarding and, in suitable conditions, skating on the frozen lake. The building thus adds to Lipno's tourist infrastructure and supports its use throughout the year.
