The village is located in the border region, in an area that mirrors the former Sudetenland and which has never fully recovered from the situation that arose after World War II. Over time, due to displacement and the inaccessible border zone, the entire area has become one huge brownfield site, whose only asset is its almost untouched nature. Given the quality of the natural environment, the logical and most effective response to the problems of this area is to focus on tourism.

For 30 years, A8000 has been working on a concept to transform the original Lipno dam construction site into a viable, successful community capable of providing its citizens and the surrounding area with a full and high-quality life. A8000 has created both a basic urban concept and, above all, a development vision and strategy, a draft concept for tourism infrastructure capable of attracting tourists in both the summer and winter seasons and capable of ensuring the development of the community, its inhabitants, and local tradespeople and entrepreneurs based on the natural internal activity of all participants. Lipno nad Vltavou is currently one of the most successful municipalities in the Czech Republic. Its economic, demographic, social, and cultural indicators deviate from the trends typical for most settlements in the Czech border region (population growth of around 20%, creation of approximately 1,000 jobs, increase in the education coefficient, etc.). In addition to creating basic development and urban planning tools, A8000 has also been providing long-term consulting services, offering expert assistance in the municipality's daily negotiations with owners, investors, real estate developers, and service providers on the appropriate directions for their development, the overall direction of the municipality, and the necessary synergy and harmony of all parties.
