Building A is one of the distinctive office buildings of BB Centrum in Michle, combining efficient office operations with architecture based on light, transparency and an expressed structure.

The H-shaped building rises from a compact rectangular podium and is shielded from the main road by a projecting glass façade, which forms its characteristic southern face. The main spatial motif of the interior is a multi-storey central atrium, into which the main entrance opens and which cascades open across the individual floors.

Light at the Heart of the Building

The layout of the building is driven by maximum efficiency of office operations. More expressive architectural play is therefore concentrated mainly in the façade and the central atrium. The main entrance opens onto the atrium floor, from where the space cascades open across the individual storeys.

Daylight penetrates deep into the floor plan through a rooflight and, together with tinted and backlit glass elements, creates the motif of a light spectrum.

Space Between the Floors

The building’s architecture works with light, transparency and structure rather than with a multitude of materials. The strict grid of horizontals and verticals is complemented by softer organic elements in the interior, prominently represented, for example, by the original white reception desk.

In the multi-storey atrium, natural light blends with artificial light, creating its own changing atmosphere independent of the time of day.
