WHO WE ARE

A8000, led by Martin Krupauer and Pavel Kvintus, has been one of the leading Czech architectural studios for more than three decades. We specialize in projects that are demanding in their scope and complexity in the Czech Republic and beyond. We also operate in Slovakia and Canada, have long cooperated with foreign studios as local architects and are always looking for opportunities to expand into other countries. Our projects are characterised by authentic architecture with a strong artistic concept, but the spatial, social and economic context of the design is equally important to us. In this complexity lies the essence of the studio's vision.

PILLARS ON WHICH THE STUDIO STANDS

MARTIN KRUPAUER

Through Martin, we are also significantly involved in the public debate. In addition to architecture, he also focuses on visions and strategies for the transformation of transition areas and brownfields in the Czech Republic and beyond. He was a member of the Prague City Commission for the new metropolitan plan 2017. He is currently leading a team preparing the construction of the Vltava Philharmonic in Prague, Prague's first major cultural building in 100 years. With projects such as the revitalization of cities, their neighborhoods or campuses, he confirms the interdisciplinary practice of the studio.

THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Our work is based on both creativity and artisanship – on the creative process from the whole to the last detail. An essential part of our work process is the creation of models, scale models and designs from various materials. Working with the models allows us to work better with the space, shape and details.

ART

We rely on the quality and functionality of our buildings – however, their artistic value is just as important to us.

PROFESSIONALISM

The designs and constructions we have worked on have been tried and tested for years. For projects to run smoothly, we have both architects and experts in selected design professions in the team. We consult with experts in many specializations.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Working abroad and working with foreign architects is important to us. Thanks to this, we have the opportunity to participate in projects from around the world and work with names such as Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry and Sou Fujimoto. Our team of foreign architects and students ensures that our designs are not tied to Czech architectural trends.

INNOVATION

We also search for and use our own products and design procedures and solutions in our work. Modern technologies are important to us, so we use them both in the process of creating and designing, as well as in our constructions.

TEAM
