We are building new interconnected multifunctional houses referring to the gas tradition of the locality. The material design is based on a classic urban block, which is further shaped based on the limits and potentials of the plot. The two buildings, XENON and NEON, interact with each other to create an internal world full of details and a mosaic of materials, all on a pleasantly human scale. One cannot be without the other, and not only because they are connected by common floors in the basement. The curve of XENON is in dialogue with the stable line of NEON.

The simple form that defines the building exterior is given detail and playfulness in the alternation of different materials, combining a modern approach with a reference to history – handsome concrete, corrugated iron, glass and local stone underline the rawness and elegance of the whole.

The multi-functional houses are not only designed for individual housing – they also have the ambition to fulfil a community dimension, compensating for the utilitarian nature of small flats. Common spaces thus play a key role – courtyard cafes, community facilities, roof terraces, workout areas and places to relax create a space for gathering.
